28 October 2026 | Hidden, Bucharest
Some evenings are memorable because you win. Others are memorable because of the people you spend them with, the questions that make you scratch your head, and the unexpected pleasure of discovering that you’ve found your team.
The October edition of TRIVIA by JULES, held on Wednesday, 28 October at Hidden in Bucharest, was definitely one of those evenings.
The theme was Revolts and Revolutions, but the questions took us far beyond history, covering everything from animal world records and Norse mythology to literature, cinema, and music.
And I had the pleasure of joining Piano Cats, thanks to Irene and Cristi, who welcomed me into their team.
π Whiskers, Tennis Balls and Unexpected Records
We started with a round dedicated to animals and some rather unusual world records.
How long is the world’s longest cat whisker?
Our answer was 27 centimetres. The correct answer announced at the quiz was 19 centimetres.
Apparently, we had rather ambitious expectations when it came to feline facial hair.
Another question asked which dog breed held the record for carrying the most tennis balls in its mouth simultaneously.
We went with Great Dane. After all, that’s a pretty big dog with a pretty big mouth.
The correct answer? A Golden Retriever, with six tennis balls!
Not quite the start we’d hoped for, but certainly an entertaining one.
π Books, Covers and Literary Characters
Now this was a round I could really get excited about!
We were shown pictures of book covers and had to identify the main characters.
Ten questions, ten opportunities to put our literary knowledge to the test.
Piano Cats scored 5 out of 10, which might not sound spectacular until you discover that it was the highest score achieved by any of the participating teams.
So, yes, we only got half of them right, but apparently everyone else found the round just as challenging!
As someone who spends a considerable amount of time reading, reviewing books, and building BookFairy, I particularly enjoyed seeing literature take centre stage.
π Revolutions, Revolts and a Little History
Naturally, an evening themed around Revolts and Revolutions wouldn’t be complete without a round dedicated to revolutions themselves.
It was a chance to put our historical knowledge to the test and explore the subject that had inspired the October edition.
βοΈ A Journey into Norse Mythology
Another round took us into the world of Norse mythology.
Gods, legends, and ancient stories added a mythological dimension to an already wonderfully varied quiz.
It’s one of the things I enjoyed about the evening: you never quite knew which corner of your general knowledge you’d need next.
π¬ Lights, Camera… What Year Was That?
The film round came with an extra challenge.
We were shown scenes from different films and had to identify both the film title and its release year.
Recognising a film is one thing. Remembering exactly when it was released is another!
It was a fun combination of visual memory and cinematic knowledge.
π΅ Thirty Seconds to Name That Tune
The sixth and final round was all about music.
Five songs, thirty seconds of listening time for each, and two things to identify: the artist and the song title.
A fitting way to finish an evening that had already taken us through so many different subjects.
π TRIVIA by JULES β Piano Cats and Our Final Score
When the scores were announced, Piano Cats finished outside the podium with 24.5 points.
The winning team had 32 points, while the team in last place finished with 15.
No trophy for us this time, but we did achieve the highest score in the literary round, and we certainly had a good time.
More importantly, I really enjoyed playing alongside Irene and Cristi.
They made me feel welcome, and by the end of the evening, they’d invited me to join Piano Cats again for the November edition.
An invitation I was very happy to receive!
π Final Thoughts
I went to Hidden for an evening of trivia and came away with something even better than a place on the podium: a lovely experience and the prospect of doing it all again with the same team.
The October edition of TRIVIA by JULES offered a great mix of subjects, some wonderfully unexpected questions, and plenty of opportunities to discover just how much you know β or think you know!
And if there’s one thing I’ll remember, apart from the surprisingly long cat whiskers and the tennis-ball-carrying Golden Retriever, it’s how much fun I had with Piano Cats.
See you in November, Piano Cats! ππΉ
