A chronological guide to Naomi Novik’s novels, fantasy series, novellas, short stories, collections, collaborations, omnibus editions and Romanian translations.

Her bibliography includes the nine-volume Temeraire series, The Scholomance Trilogy, the standalone novels Uprooted and Spinning Silver, illustrated fiction, novellas and short stories published in numerous anthologies.
This guide follows the original publication dates, separates new works from later collections and reprints, and provides the reading order for each series.

These shorter works expand the fictional world but are not additional numbered volumes in the main nine-book series.

🎨 Illustrated Fiction and Graphic Novels
Will Supervillains Be on the Final? (2011)
- Series: Liberty Vocational, Volume 1
- Writer: Naomi Novik
- Illustrator: Yishan Li
- Original publisher: Del Rey
- First published: 26 April 2011

📦 Omnibus Editions, Boxed Sets and Revised Publications
The following publications collect existing works or present them in alternative editions.
They are recorded separately to avoid counting the same novels twice.
| Year | Publication | Contents or Distinction |
|---|---|---|
| 2006 | Temeraire: In the Service of the King | Omnibus containing the first three Temeraire novels |
| 2009 | In His Majesty’s Service: Three Novels of Temeraire | Omnibus of His Majesty’s Dragon, Throne of Jade and Black Powder War, with additional material |
| 2017 | Golden Age and Other Stories | Collection of shorter fiction, not a new numbered novel |
| 2024 | Buried Deep and Other Stories | Collection of 13 stories, including earlier publications |

Alternative Titles and Expanded Works
- His Majesty’s Dragon / Temeraire: Two titles for the same first novel, depending on publishing territory.
- Spinning Silver: Originally a 2016 short story; developed into a separate full-length novel in 2018.
- Hoodwinked: A bonus story associated with a later edition of Spinning Silver. It should be distinguished from the original 2018 novel.
- The Summer War: The 2026 paperback is a later edition of the novella originally published in 2025.
These distinctions matter when identifying first editions and building an accurate reading catalogue.

Notes on Older Romanian Editions
Older Romanian editions are part of the publication history, even when the books have subsequently been reissued with new covers, ISBNs or collection branding.
For this bibliography:
- An original Romanian publication and a later paperback or hardcover edition are not listed as different literary works.
- A new publisher, collection or cover does not establish a new original novel.
This approach preserves historical publishing information without filling the bibliography with unnecessary duplicate entries.
